Brian Gale

Brian Gale is the lighting designer for all four operas in LA Opera's new production of Wagner's Ring cycle. With over 30 years of professional lighting design experience, he spent 24 years with the Walt Disney Company, the last 15 years of that time at Walt Disney Imagineering, where he was Principal Show Lighting Designer. During his time with Disney, he designed for television, theater and themed entertainment attractions as well as the premieres of Pirates of the Caribbean I, II and III. He has received over 12 DramaLogue awards for his lighting designs and is currently co-owner of NyxDesign. Mr. Gale, who made his LA Opera debut designing lighting for the community production of Noye's Fludde at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels in 2007, designed the lighting for LA Opera's productions of Jenufa, La Bohème and Judas Maccabaeus last season. His previous designs include the Olympic Plaza Parade for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, the world premiere of Pocahontas in Central Park, the premiere of The Hunchback of Notre Dame live on the Disney Channel, and the premiere of Tarzan with Phil Collins. |
